We want you, and the rest of the Old School community, to have the best possible experience using our facilities and we want to be good neighbours. To help us achieve our goal of having a brilliant and safe environment, we ask that you stick to a few ‘house rules’ when using Old School Rehearsal Rooms.
By booking a rehearsal session at Old School Rehearsal Rooms you are entering into a contract by which you are agreeing unconditionally on behalf of the band/artist to abide by the studio's terms and conditions as detailed below. The lead booker is responsible for ensuring all participants in the booking are aware of and comply with the terms below.
1. Booking:
1.1. The lead booker (the person who books session/service) must be over 18 years of age. Under 18s who intend to use our services and premises must have an over 18 present.
1.2. Bookings can be made via our online booking system and are valid upon receipt of confirmation email.
1.3. Times and dates are subject to availability on our online booking system, with a minimum session time of 2 hours. Old School Rehearsal Rooms books sessions in 2, 3 or 4 hour slots, if you wish to have more or a full day rate then please enquire via email, info@oldschoolrehearsalrooms.com and we will do what we can to accommodate.
1.4. The last session on any given day must end by 11pm (please see Load-in/load-out section of T&Cs).
1.5. Old School Rehearsal Rooms reserves the right to cancel bookings at any time based upon circumstances beyond our control. Any booking cancelled by Old School Rehearsal Rooms would not be chargeable to the artist/band. In the event of such occurrences, we will ensure your session is rescheduled at the earliest convenience.
2. Payment:
2.1. You will be asked to register a valid card to confirm your booking, The registered card will remain on your account and all bookings will be charged automatically approximately 72 hours before you appointment.
3. Load-In & Load-Out:
3.1. You will be provided a one-time access code to gain entry to the building following confirmation of your booking. Please only share this code with participants of your booking. The code will only allow access during your booking window.
3.2. Please ensure all gates and doors are closed behind you before starting your rehearsal.
3.3. The door is set to auto-lock after 5 minutes of opening. Please try to avoid holding the door open. If you do, need to hold the door open, ensure the lock is open before letting the door swing shut.
3.4. Please arrive and load in at your booking start time. The time that your session is scheduled for is the time you should plan to arrive and begin to load-in and set up. For example, if you have booked from 4.00 pm, load in begins at 4.00 pm,
3.5. The room must be cleared and returned to its original state by the end of your booking. For example, if your booking ends at 9.00 pm, you need to be clear and loaded out of the rehearsal room by 9.00 pm to allow the next booking access to the room and to allow for smooth transitions between artists/bands. Please allow enough time to break down, load out, and ensure the room is tidy.
3.6. If you overrun a session, you will incur a fee so that we may compensate any staff member or customer, your lateness inconveniences.
3.7. Be a good neighbour. When leaving Old School, do so in a respectful manner. Don’t linger outside the building. Be aware of our neighbours and Old School’s surroundings. Keep noises outside to a minimum.
3.8. The external door must be closed and locked behind you. Press and hold the # key to lock the door. If the builldng is not secured at the end of your session and we have to attend, a £12.00 call out fee may be charged to your card..
4. During Your Rehearsal:
4.1. Close both doors to your room. Keep studio doors closed while playing and respect other musicians in the studios.
4.2. Think of the planet - If you switch it on, remember to switch it off before you leave. This includes the air-con, or heater fan, lights, amps, PA etc.
4.3. We recommend that you use ear protection for the duration of your rehearsal.
4.4. Our facilities are monitored by CCTV, with audio recording capabilities. By booking with us, you consent to your rehearsal being monitored for security purposes.
5. Cancellations:
5.1. Old School Rehearsal Rooms have a cancellation period of 72 hours. Sessions cancelled within the 72 hour period will not be refunded, your slot will be lost and may be reallocated.
5.2. If cancellations become regular inside or outside the 72 hour cancellation period, a decision may be made to temporarily or permanently restrict your bookings. All cancellations can be notified by emailing info@oldschoolrehearsalrooms.com.
6. Equipment:
6.1. Our rehearsal rooms are provided with a PA, mic stands, XLR cables, Natal drum shells, snare, bass drum pedal, drum stool, hardware and a Blackstar backline (two combos, one bass amp, one 4x12 cab) this equipment is static; should you wish to bring your own equipment we ask you to not remove the backline from the room. We only provide vocal microphones (four in room 3, four in room 2 and three in room 1), instrument microphones, including drum mics are not provided. We ask drummers to bring cymbals. Sticks, plectrums, instrument cables, instruments (excluding drum shells), anything breakable will not be provided. In emergency cases some additional equipment can be made available.
7. Breakages and damages to studio equipment or the premises:
7.1. Any damage caused to studio equipment or the facilities due to misuse and abuse will be charged to the band/individual. Refusal to pay for breakages will lead to exclusion and prosecution. Upon booking a session at Old School Rehearsal Rooms, you agree to look after the studio and prevent any damage occurring.
7.2. As the person responsible for the hire of the studio, you agree to supervise all users of the studio, the facilities and the building, directly or indirectly connected to you. If an item of equipment is damaged or missing at the start of your session please report it to info@oldschoolrehearsalrooms.com immediately. If anything breaks during your session, please let us know as soon as you can. We carry spares on site so you can get back to playing again straight away.
7.3. All Old School Rehearsal Rooms equipment is tracked and traceable.
8. Personal items/lost property:
8.1. Please make sure that you do not leave personal items unattended and ensure that you take all of your belongings with you when you leave. Old School Rehearsal Rooms is not responsible for any items that are lost or damaged on the premises.
9. Substance Use:
9.1. Smoking and vaping is NOT permitted anywhere inside the studio. If you leave the premises to smoke, please ensure that you use the designated smoking area at the front of the unit and that your cigarette stubs are disposed of appropriately.
9.2. The studio operates a zero tolerance policy on drugs. If you are suspected of or found to be in possession of ANY CLASS of drugs on the premises, you will be asked to leave and reported to the police.
9.3. Alcohol is permitted in small quantities, but is expected to be consumed responsibly, drunken behaviour is not permitted, and may result in a temporary or permanent restriction to your bookings. Alcohol is strictly prohibited in communal areas of the building, please confine its consumption to your allocated rehearsal room.
10. Food/Drink:
10.1. You are permitted to bring your own food and drink into the studio; however, this must not be placed on any of the equipment under any circumstances.
10.2. Be considerate with the type of food you bring, avoid greasy foods that may leave residues on equipment, or foods with strong odours that may linger into another booking.
10.3. Any damage caused to the studio/studio equipment/furnishings due to spillages and negligence with food and drink will be charged as per our damages policy above.
11. Housekeeping:
11.1. Be considerate. The condition of the studio is your responsibility at the end of your session. Ensure the room is left in a good state, leave it as you would hope to find it e.g. tidy up equipment, place all litter in the bin provided. When leaving the studios, respect our neighbours and keep noise levels to a minimum and litter levels to zero.
11.2. We share a space with Vocal Coach Phillipa Akers, who before 7.00 pm may have young students in attendance, please be considerate of this when moving around the building. The upper floor is for Pippa's students, and staff only, do not go upstairs for any reason.
11.3. Toilet facilities accessed via the fire exit next to room one. Toilets are communal, shared with the New Bradwell Workspace, please leave them as you would expect to find them. Ensure you close the fire door behind you after using the toilets.
Disclaimer: Upon booking a session with Old School Rehearsal Rooms, you agree to comply with safety regulations connected with the permitted use of the building including fire regulations, health and safety regulations, performing rights regulations and licensing and gaming laws. You can not use the facilities for any illegal or immoral purpose. A member of staff will indicate fire and emergency procedures with you upon your first booking; please ensure to familiarise yourself and any person connected to you with the fire emergency procedures. Old School Rehearsal Rooms accepts no liability for any loss or damage to the client or any user connected directly or indirectly to the client. For the avoidance of doubt, the client is solely responsible for any liability, injury, personal claims, litigation or any other matter resulting from the hire of the premises on behalf of himself/herself and fellow users/guests and indemnifies Old School Rehearsal Rooms from any such costs. In the interest of safety, we request groups no larger than 6 per session; however exceptions can be made for larger groups upon discussion with an Old School Rehearsal Rooms staff member prior to booking.
